Dear Vanessa,

The most meaningful part of my law school experience was participating in the Immigration Justice Clinic with you. My time studying and working with you in the IJC in 2009-2010 undoubtedly shaped my career (first representing immigrant clients pro bono while practicing at a law firm and then full-time at NYLAG and KIND). I likely spent more time in the IJC library than anywhere else on campus, and loved every minute! We represented a sweet musician from Iran and an asylum seeker from Mauritania, and thanks to your guidance and leadership, we obtained successful outcomes for both clients. You have made an everlasting impact on anyone who is lucky enough to know you.

I wish you much happiness during your retirement - and I hope you take comfort knowing that you have shaped the lives and careers of countless immigration justice advocates and attorneys. Thank you for all you have done. The world is a much better place because of you.
